2013 WINTER FILM AWARDS INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

Our mission is to recognize excellence and diversity in cinema and to promote learning and artistic expression for all people at all stages of their artistic careers.  We celebrate the crazy cultural mixture that is New York City, showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective.

Our focus is on nurturing emerging filmmakers and helping them get some recognition and contacts to break into a tough industry. We pride ourselves on our diverse collection of films and filmmakers, allowing our audience to enjoy films they normally wouldn't think to seek out.  In addition to our festival, we do 4-6 events each year in NYC, including panel discussions, networking parties, a 48-Hour Film Challenge and other fun film-related events.

Winter Film Awards is a registered New York State 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The Winter Film Awards will be February 28 - March 3 2013 and our March 2 Awards Ceremony will be televised nationally on American Primetime Television via Omniverse TV and our national affiliates, and is to reach an international audience in 119 cities through multiple platforms, including iPad, mobile phones and other devices.

 The Winter Film Awards is partnered with local NYC film schools, cultural societies and non-profit organizations.  The celebration includes several exciting components including an Independent Film Festival, an Awards Celebration and a Talent Competition showcasing the Creative Arts.

The WFA Film festival is an IMDB qualifying film festival.

About Our Founders
Winter Film Awards is masterminded and produced by industry veterans George Isaacs and Ken Kushner, whose partnership spans more than a decade. Kushner and Isaacs have worked with a number of production companies including Round House Pictures, I.D. Films, Park Avenue Post and Red Reel Pictures on projects ranging from commercial advertising campaigns to full-length feature films. Over the years, they collaborated to produce music videos for many of the industry’s renowned artists including Eve, Shai and Ruff Ryders, with film production credits including Paradox Lake, One Blood and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's Before I Self Destruct. 

 
This dynamic duo’s big picture expertise, industry contacts and proven number-crunching abilities in new media and project management are foundations for the smooth operation and expansion of this organization.

Event Photography
Chiresse Paradise a.k.a Resse does freelance photography around New York City.  It is possible to see her in nightclubs, corporate events, or even in a local open mic.  After developing a passion for the art of photography in 2010 she decided to embark on a journey of what she calls "Still Words".  It is an exhibition of themes around New York City that the tell of story of its culture, fashion, and attitude.  At 26 years old she runs a multi-faceted company Paranique, LLC and is committed to achieving her goals while motivating others in the process.  After graduating from Madison Square Garden in 2008 from Baruch College, she states, "life is short, but the journey isn't so its time to start having fun!".
